Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad
Happy Birthday, Dad!
Together again,
In heaven with Mom,
If minds can delve where God desires us to,
You searched your whole life through,
Books upon books,
Philosophers,
The Bible,
You told me,
We talked,
Dear God, how we talked,
Every day!
(I on one end; you on the other; we met at the middle),
We muddled,
(I am listening to you now for these words),
“We found peace”,
You prayed every night,
I hear your voice,
Every day,
You were a strong man,
You had a voice,
I love you so much,
Talk to you soon.

My First Walk

My First Walk

My first walk,
I’m their first,
I’m their daughter,
Daddy out in front,
My protector; my provider,
No one will harm us,
My, Daddy is here,
I don’t know it yet,
But, he will always be my protector,
I’ll get it,
(And, actually like it),
He is our fortress,
Mommy ever present,
Ever present, again,
Knowing needs before needs are expressed,
Hands that hold, love and caress,
I don’t know it yet,
But, she will always be my nurturer,
My confidant,
I’ll get it,
(And, actually like it)
She is our hearth and home,
My first walk,
Of many,
We are a family now,
How sweet can this be?
How sweet can this be?

It's Light

It’s Light

At the end of the day,
It’s not a bank account,
It’s not money,
Or any kind of bottom line,

At the end of the day,
It’s not a house,
It’s not land,
Or any kind of real estate,

At the end of the day,
It’s not about a thought,
It’s not about a mind,
Or any kind of human reality.

At the end of the day,
It is about illumination,
It is about light,
It is about God!

Babies Toddlers Little Boys

Babies Toddlers Little Boys

Babies, toddlers, little boys-
Little girls; with all their toys,
Grandpa; Grandma come to play,
Let’s have fun all through the day!

Hugs and kisses everyone,
Dance and sing, and have such fun,
“BINGO”, is dog we know,
Spell it, “B-I-N-G-O!”

Itsy spider in a spout,
If it rains will he come out?
Monkeys bouncing on a bed,
All fell off, and hit their head!

Colors, numbers, building blocks,
Counting numbers on the clocks,
Start with, “one”, and “two”, and “three”,
Now our letters, “A”, “B”, “C”!

Energy we start to lack,
Popcorn for our evening snack,
Climbing now we count each stair,
Snuggle now with a stuffed bear.

Grandpa; Grandma soon will roam,
Not too far, but to their home,
Dream of all the fun we had,
Share it with your Mom and Dad!

The Water's Edge

The Water’s Edge

Walk out to the water’s edge,
Don’t fear the chill,
Put your toes in,
Be the man,
Then, one, two, three,
Dive in!
Here’s life!
Wow!
Exhilarating!
Immersed,
Enjoying every moment,
(Except the sting of water in the nostrils),
It’s all good,
Beyond good,
It’s great!
You finally need to take a break,
Tired,
Find your footing,
You walk to edge,
The water becomes shallow,
The water ebbs,
You are home.
