Cynics

Cynics,

Man supreme?
Belief in evidence only,
Suggesting God to be evil for letting evil exist,
Is it a weighty thing to believe in some power beyond yourself?
I have become skeptical of skeptics,
Test truth,
Yes!
But, open your mind!
I found that most skeptics are cynics,
Cynics are quick to find fault,
Cynics are prideful in what THEY see as truth,
They only believe:
What they hear,
What they smell,
What they touch, and taste,
Cynics rarely feel empathy toward anyone who do not share their beliefs,
Cynics like to ridicule people,
Who believe in God, or any creative force,
Beyond their own,
And, they are trapped in this impenetrable bubble,
Created by themselves,
Imagination is blunted,
Dreams are limited,
I used to be a cynic,
But, life got better,
Call me a dreamer,
Call me a believer in something greater than man,
Life takes on a deeper,
More colorful,
More meaningful existence,
When you find God!

My Friends

My Friends

Comfortable,
Old shoe stuff,
Nothing ruffles them,
Nothing!
Tell them something bizarre,
OK, half smile,
They ask a bizarre question back,
You both smile,
You don’t have to work at “friends”,
Friends find themselves,
Whenever you doubt yourself,
Whenever you are in that crowd,
Who is my friend?
Find a table away from the crowd,
Sit there by yourself,
WHOEVER,
And, again I say,
WHOEVER,
Comes to sit by you,
Is your friend!

You Part III

You Part III

Starry spaces,
Expansive landscapes,
Rolling hills with flowers,
Morning meadows,
The blue, blue sea,
You are all I see,
Beauty young,
Beauty perfected by age,
Aged to perfection,
You!

Autumn

Autumn

Autumn has arrived,
The leaves have color,
The sap is running more slowly,
Still alive,
Still vital,
More vibrant than springtime green,
Change is evident
The air is crisp and cool,
Fresh from the north,
The sun sends its sunshine,
(As it always does),
But, angled,
To sting your eyes,
Now, blink,
It is evening,
Nights are longer,
Dawns are met,
Dewy grasses and low fogs,
Breathe,
Winter is coming,
But, we have autumn,
We have autumn,
Now!
