Resaon

Reason

What is so modern, so modern today,
That I place my evil on shelf far away,
Contemporized thought from a modernized man,
And, delve into reason the best that I can.

Indulge every sense ‘til I’m senseless within,
Remove from the lexicon obsolete “sin”,
So my inner child is now free from all doubt,
And, all thanks to reason; I’ve reasoned it out.

If reason gets cloudy, or fuzzy or blurred,
There must be a reason that this has occurred,
For “evil” and “good” are the puzzlers I see,
But, I’ve reasoned “evil” from the depths of me!

If “evil” exists from within then I look,
From modern to ancient, I search every book,
There’s reason the Bible exists still today,
Christ lives and forgives for what I shelved away!

Saturday Morning

Saturday Morning

Slept in today,
5 a.m.
Free as a bird,
High as a kite,
Saturday’s work done yesterday,
We’re free girl,
You and me,
What’ll be,
Anticipation and possibility,
Best “drugs” on the market,
These days,
Coffee on the porch swing,
Road trip to who knows where,
Lunch at some exotic burger joint,
Ten dollars extra for the fancy name,
We won’t care,
We’ll giggle about it though,
You and me,
Road walks,
Long talks,
Hands clasped,
Side glances,
Romances,
Meeting in the middle,
Meeting in the middle,
Got any plans today, Sweetie?
Cup of coffee on the porch swing?
