Dear Friends

Dear Friends
We thank dear friends for borrowed time,
We’ve spent upon your isle sublime,
It’s here within your home we find,
Sweet paradise, and peace of mind.

We view the lonely palms out there,
And every sea bird in the air,
As seen from portals in your place,
Transporting time toward calmer pace.

And as the day draws to an end,
We sit with you our fonder friend,
To share true joy; each everyone,
That grandest view and setting sun.

Each person travels near and far,
For me there is no higher bar,
Each sunset that we view so dear,
Our minds will always take us here.

I Know I'm in Love

I know I’m in love when I’d rather stay,
Than have fun with friends on an isle far away,
To sit at restaurant just holding your hand,
Sweet music your words on my ears as they land.

I know I’m in love when I’d rather keep-
You close by my side in the bed where you sleep,
Than trying to find joy in some other place,
I’ve found all I need in your loving embrace.

I know I’m in love when I’d rather see,
You rounding a corner and walking towards me,
There’s nobody else in the world that could do-
For there’s simply no one that’ll duplicate you.

I know I’m in love when I’d rather hold-
You here in my arms so that I can enfold-
You ever, forever, oh please never part,
Yes, I know I’m in love for you’ve captured my heart.

Spider Boogie

I walked in the kitchen what did I see,
A saw a little spider just lookin’ at me,

Refrain
Let’s do the Spi-i-der boogie,
Come on the Spi-i-der boogie,
Let’s do the Spider boogie,
Come boogie along with me.

Hey little spider where are you from,
You’re so tiny, no bigger than a crumb,
(Refrain)

Came from outside, livin’ in a tree,
Had go travelin’ visit fam--ily,
(Refrain)

Hey little spider, how-do-you-do,
Please don’t bite me, don’t wanna get the flu,
(Refrain)

Later that night I was layin’ in my bed,
There where ten spiders each hangin’ from a thread,
They're doin’ Spi-i-der boogie,
They're singin’ Spi-i-der boogie,
They're swingin’ Spider boogie,
Come on boogie along with me.

They’re swingin’ from the ceiling; I was dancin’ on the floor,
Come on let’s boogie, let’s boogie some more,
We’ll do the Spi-i-der Boogie,
We’ll do the Spi-i-der Boogie,
Let’s do the Spider Boogie,
Come boogie along with me!

Snows of Yesteryear

There’s nothing quite like heav’n on earth as freshly fallen snow,
Where everything is covered white the trees and earth below,
Remembering the childhood joy to catch it on your tongue,
And all those memories flood forth and bursting to be sung.

You diving onto Devil’s Hill with brothers on your sleds,
Maneuvering past every tree for fear of busting heads,
If they could not reach bottom how you each would jeer and scoff,
And, laughing all uproariously if they would tumble off.

How you were also paper boys next morn before the sun-
To trudge sometimes a foot of snow delivering everyone,
Now your strong throw so accurate to land the paper so,
T’would find the driest part of porch and never hit the snow.

And finally you’d see your home through snow topped maple grove,
To see your mother in the kitchen cooking at the stove,
You’d change your clothes and come downstairs to eat that home cooked meal,
These snowy days, as memory strays begets this way I feel.

But time it moves , and you are pleased to see grandchildren grow,
How fun in fresh and fallen drift you build a man of snow,
In future days they’ll stand quite still; dear Lord, it gives me cheer,
They'll harken back those wondrous days; the snows of yesteryear!

Lover's Peace

The soft embrace and warmest touch,
So deep the powers holding such,
That fingers, lips would hold; embrace,
That angel’s skin and loving face.

And, now caressing arm and hand,
Across your brow each gorgeous strand-
Of flaxen hair; our eyes now meet,
Exchanging glances tender sweet.

So hold me close and ne’er let go,
The sun upon horizon’s glow,
All crimson reds our passions flare,
As we begin love’s final dare.

Our souls just sense each where and how,
Retreat is not an option now,
No shame; regret to find release,
A final joy in lover’s peace.

When They Take Me Away

I love when the air whistles through,
A breathy yet quiet, “Whoo, whoo”,
Then tittles up there,
In the trees in the air,
Their peaceful sweet whispers subdue.

The sun sets upon sapphrine sea,
All ambers and bronze do I see,
The waves subtle sound,
 And your spirits abound,
In airs of sweet tranquility.

Each day please let all nature ring,
To my ears and my eyes may they sing,
I will pray for the day,
When they take me away,
You feel joy in calmness they bring.
