Red Flowers on a Sea Cliff

Sea of red on rock and field,
The little rose colored flower flourishes,
Descending on hillside and cliff,
Toward the wave and surf,
Such grandeur in your spring display,
You’ve taken center stage today,
You pique my emotion,
Joy, triumphant joy,
A call to action, and reaction,
You bring out the best in me,
See what beauty you have in you,
If you only try,
Just a little more effort,
And pow, you're there,
I want to run and roll in your color,
But it is your collective that wins every time,
You have your own purpose,
But you affect mine, too,
For now I will sit in spellbound awe,
And hope, if only a little,
That you sense my appreciation.
