Our Love - Sonnet XI

How soft, how smooth your silkened skin to touch,
Caressing hands, your hair and loving face,
A goddess in my eyes we now embrace,
To hold each other close a vital crutch,
To fold each other’s arms together such-
That two became as one without a trace,
And all within the reach of our embrace,
How could we ever know we’d love this much?
It started long ago with simple things,
With ease the conversation lasted hours,
We’d please each other when we’d closely dance,
We gave each other gifts and offerings,
And did not know that love would have these powers-
To draw us in; a lifetime long romance.
