Friends and Lovers

Friends and Lovers

A friend is one that cares for you,
When you are bad or worse,
They do not pamper; mince their words,
At times they’ll even curse.

When things are good you sail along,
As hand-in-hand you go,
Through thick and thin you forge a life,
As bonds together grow.

A lover is that special one,
So few know skin-to-skin,
All intimate those inward thoughts,
And, sees you from within.

If one you hold are both of these,
A lover and a friend,
Embrace together every day,
What only Heav’n could send!
