Does Heaven Exist

Does Heaven Exist

Does Heaven exist?

Tonight I think so,

No, I know so,

Is it ever otherwise?

Of course…

And, I will tell you why…

When I am confused,

When I am belligerent,

When I am an anally retentive person,

Hell dwells,

But, it is mostly made from me,

And, my perception pounded,

But Heaven,

Oh, Heaven comes from outside,

Give Christ credit,

We are debited to Him,

We thank a lot of other folks,

For things they have done for us,

We have days,

Sometimes weeks,

Rarely months set aside for race,

Creed, culture,

Christ brought Heaven,

Thanks are to Christ!

For Heaven!

Girl of My Dreams

I cannot wake up from this dream,

We blend like coffee and its cream,

You poured yourself; I gave a swirl,

Since seventeen you were my girl.

And, decades now I stop and stare,

To see your lovely face right there,

You kick your shoes off; heaven knows,

I thrill to see those painted toes.

But it’s not that; I want to hear,

Your thoughts and voice upon my ear,

And, oh, that girlish giggle, too,

It makes the man; a man for you.

Springtime Fire

Springtime Fire

Burst bud, and flower branch and leaf,

Spring from cold Winter’s icy thief,

Whose wind and snow we’ve known too long,

The hour’s arrived for Springtime song!

The crocus; daffodil displayed,

They melt our Winter’s heart dismayed,

Oh, fill our soul with warm desire,

With sparks and kindled Springtime fire!
