Thanksgiving with
Family
Gather family; one
and all,
‘Round the festive
banquet hall,
Greet each one
with hug and kiss,
Hearts o’er flow
with inner bliss.
Touch a face with
gentle hand,
Sense the warmth
in smiles so grand,
Children cheer and
swiftly race,
Toward their
grandma’s soft embrace.
Aunts and uncles;
cousins, too,
Catch up on their
lives anew,
Reminisce the
younger day,
And, fondly miss
those passed away.
Turkey, gravy,
pumpkin pie,
Savoring all with
gleeful sigh,
Stories told ‘bout
family,
Escapades and
history.
‘Round the hearth
we settle now,
As sun descends
with final bow,
And, thanking God
with inner prayer,
For our dear
family gathered there!
