A Cold or Not?
You know you’ve got it; yes, you do,
That doggone virus; bit of flu,
A subtle one, it makes me mad,
You know quite soon it will be bad.
Just maybe, yet, it’s in your mind,
A reason for this cough you’ll find,
A sneeze or two; you know not why,
Perhaps the cat was walking by,
Should change the furnace filter now,
A tricky job, but you know how,
The hardware store has filters there,
Decrease the dust that’s in the air.
You’re wife just had a simple cold,
You slept by her; a move so bold,
How did you think that you’d escape,
The covers o’er your face you’d drape.
You feel okay, you’ll be alright,
If I can make it through the night,
With trepidation I just froze,
I felt a drop up in my nose!
