Oh, Mother do you see a tear,
In Heaven now no longer here,
The one who loved me from the start,
You loved me so and gave your heart.
My wife, a mother, oh the joys,
Who bore a daughter and two boys,
I’ll give ten thousand kisses to,
For all you are, and all you do.
But, now we’ve seen our children grown,
These four grandsons that we have known,
From baby cups and toddler chairs,
And, crawling slowly up the stairs.
The oldest six, he talks and talks,
Another one just takes off socks,
A quiet grandson slips away,
And, one with drama tries to sway.
Oh mothers, mothers, all are dears,
For putting up with all our tears,
In graciousness we say to thee,
You have our love eternally!
