When Family Works
When family works,
There are no shirks in responsibility,
Love rules,
Point and period,
And, period and point,
You wake with the sun,
Yet, if before the sun you must be the sun,
As bright as you can be,
So little ones can see,
Love,
Caring,
Hugs, and sharing,
Dry clothes,
More hugs, and cereal,
Eggs and bacon,
Toast and jelly,
Apples or orange juice,
Pancakes and syrup, too,
Whoo, whoo!
If blessings are few,
Then in review,
What must remain?
Closeness,
Hugs and hugs again,
Kisses anywhere on the head,
Tender hands upon the face of ones you adore,
And, say it if you have lips and tongue to speak it,
“I love you!”
If you cannot speak it say it with your eyes,
Twinkle it with a glint from your eye!
My grandson loves the song,
“Twinkle, twinkle, little star,”
Be that wonder,
Be that star,
For them,
If for no one else,
(But, hopefully for everyone else),
Be that twinkling star for them!
