Bright lights,
24 hour deli,
Myriads of students,
12 packs of beer,
Prepared to head home,
Bar closes-
Across the street,
Lively conversation,
Bright eyes; curious minds,
Young man asleep in a chair,
Ignored; yet accepted,
Night revelry concludes,
Quiet descends,
New patron appears,
Old men with books,
Taxicab drivers,
Early shift hotel workers,
Disheveled folks,
Backpacks; cigarettes,
And, coffee,
Black coffee,
Dark roast.
