Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day
Pumpkins, autumn leaves adorn,
Woolen socks and sweaters worn,
Cats entwined around you sit,
Logs within the fireplace lit.
A time remembered; parent’s home,
As toward the hearth your heart would roam,
Cares just seemed to melt away,
At rest upon Thanksgiving Day.
And now we gather, shop and store,
To bake the pies and rolls once more,
This treasured time is oh, so near,
Of holding close your family dear.
