Oh Mark This Time – Sonnet XXI

Oh Mark This Time – Sonnet XXI

Oh mark this time, please mark this time,
This nation, and this planet here,
We want a life so sweet; sublime,
To kiss each day as oh, so dear,
This is our goal, and fondest bent,
To use the gold from others’ work,
And, worry not on how it’s spent,
All labor in our own we shirk,
Come on! Pick up a broom and sweep!
Machines are broke; then have some pride,
To move yourself; no, don’t you weep,
When you’re alone you’re on your side,
With energy you see the sun,
And, now you can protect each one!
