Halloween Fun
Factor in now
Halloween,
To fancy ghosts we’ve
never seen,
The goons and goblins
in the air,
Come swooping in
from everywhere.
It’s fun, if
nothing else, the frights,
To capture us,
these lengthening nights,
A twelve-foot
ghost with walking stick,
Above the floor he
moves quite quick.
The lady in her
white-laced gown,
All colorless; her
frosted frown,
Suspended there;
she shrieks and cries,
Now, stares at us
with soulless eyes.
We dare not speak
of these to friends,
These fancied
ghouls who’ve met their ends,
Who dither-dather
in our rooms,
Or fly away on
magic brooms.
Perhaps they’ll
think of us as mad,
Or, pity us with eyes
so sad,
But, now’s the
time for ghosts to cheer,
For Halloween is
drawing near!
