Some Thoughts

Some think their minds, in all the world, the highest on the shelves,

From ooze, and lightning bolts and stuff they made it there themselves,

The genome is the final proof in our biology,

The only missing link, I think, is rationality.

The minds upon the highest shelf will figure this all out,

Through natural selection and the intellectual clout,

It’s not how life itself began, but how we think we know,

That thinking comes from thinking then the odds are rather low.

So what, you beg the question, is the obvious reply,

Our God who has the mind supreme and I will tell you why,

And, you lament I filled the gaps with something rather odd,

But, even you must reason well it all can come from God.
