Grandpa’s Rocket Ship
So come on Grandkids take a trip,
With Grandpa on his rocket ship,
And, Grandma, too, she’ll take a book,
To read it in her reading nook.
With Grandpa on his rocket ship,
And, Grandma, too, she’ll take a book,
To read it in her reading nook.
You’ll need some snacks so we can munch,
Your backpack and a good sack lunch,
Okay, your toys and this and such,
However, you won’t be bored much!
Your backpack and a good sack lunch,
Okay, your toys and this and such,
However, you won’t be bored much!
You didn’t know that Grandpa had,
A Rocket and a launching pad?
Behind the golf clubs, mow’r and rags,
And, Grandma’s pile of shopping bags.
A Rocket and a launching pad?
Behind the golf clubs, mow’r and rags,
And, Grandma’s pile of shopping bags.
We’ll dust it off so it is clean,
And, fill with some gasoline,
Now, seated strapped, and all on board,
With One, Two, Three, away we soared!
And, fill with some gasoline,
Now, seated strapped, and all on board,
With One, Two, Three, away we soared!
We’ve blasted through Earth’s outer mist,
To find if Pluto does exist!
At first the Sun, and Mercury,
And, Venus and our Earth we see.
To find if Pluto does exist!
At first the Sun, and Mercury,
And, Venus and our Earth we see.
But we are on our way to Mars,
Now Jupiter, and to the stars,
Before the stars, our Saturn brings,
The glory of its outer rings.
Now Jupiter, and to the stars,
Before the stars, our Saturn brings,
The glory of its outer rings.
Uranus blue-green gaseous jewel,
Each grandchild wild in solar school,
Because we know we come quite soon,
Our number eight; our blue Neptune.
Each grandchild wild in solar school,
Because we know we come quite soon,
Our number eight; our blue Neptune.
We checked around for Pluto’s sphere,
One Grandchild said, “Can’t see it here.”
So Grandma said, “How far we’ve roamed,”
“We’ve learned a lot; let’s all go home.”
One Grandchild said, “Can’t see it here.”
So Grandma said, “How far we’ve roamed,”
“We’ve learned a lot; let’s all go home.”
Each Grandchild had their special job,
Some flipped a switch; some turned a knob,
Now, down it soars; our rockets rolls,
Grandchildren in their firm controls.
Some flipped a switch; some turned a knob,
Now, down it soars; our rockets rolls,
Grandchildren in their firm controls.
The rocket ship turns close to home,
To Grandpa’s launching pad ‘til roam,
“Boy, Grandpa’s Rocket had some zip”,
“Eight planets in a two-hour trip!”
To Grandpa’s launching pad ‘til roam,
“Boy, Grandpa’s Rocket had some zip”,
“Eight planets in a two-hour trip!”
