Winter Sports

Winter Sports

An arctic wind has swept,
Shoulders shudder,
Sweaters never worn are pulled from shelves,
Fireplaces are swept,
Hearth and home,
Become smaller,
We nestle,
We hibernate,
The upside is,
We see our lover’s face,
Every hour,
The bond beyond a bonfire,
Where in summer time we drift,
She into gardening,
I into summer sport,
Thank God, for winter,
And, winter sports!
