Christmas Star
Its Christmas time may Heav’n descend,
So light may shine and darkness end,
Too soon for myrrh and frankincense,
The loss of life and innocence.
The Christ child comes and we prepare,
Yet, family and friends despair,
Why falling tinsel; reddened bow,
Would cause such anguished tears to flow.
A death that is untimely come,
If not to us; it is to some,
Yes, end of life for all is sure,
The evil one, but why the pure?
Our reason for the Christmas day,
A Christ for us to show the way,
The resurrection, not the birth,
Not earthly life; eternal worth!
While we are here protect each one,
From dawn’s pure light to setting sun,
And, hold your loved ones near and far,
In awe of one bright Christmas star!
