Love Eternal

Love Eternal

Love eternal flame desire,
Captured in a wick of fire,
Up and up and burning still,
Two strands entwined with purest will.

It’s often said that love won’t last,
That romance of these kids have passed,
The boy in me sees girl in you,
The same, you’ve said, is in you, too.

As two, like stars, we fly at night,
Transfixed on beams of radiant light,
We face a future without fear,
Enveloped in love’s atmosphere.

Now, those who wish and want to know,
From dawn of spring to winter’s snow,
It’s giving all to my fair dame,
And, from you, too, the very same.

My pledge to you will always be,
To give my love eternally,
My heart is yours, and you are mine,
Forever rapt in love divine!

Larry

Larry

I see your smile,
I hear your laugh,
The giggle is different,
With twinkling eyes and vibrating frame,
All the same,
I miss you,
I miss you,
Meals together at the chicken buffet,
Girls on one side and boys on the other,
Seems old fashioned,
But,
We’re old,
A single beer is all you want,
It’s all you need,
Well, except for your pretty wife at the end of the table,
She’s able,
She’s so stable,
You’re lucky you’ve got her,
Just as I’m lucky to have mine,
We call them “our girls”,
(Women for a long time; I still think they like that we say, “girls”),
OK, buddy,
Up to heaven too soon for us,
Too soon for us,
Why do we tear when we know there’s joy,
It the simple stuff,
The “stuffing” of life here,
And, here’s to you,
My friend,
We send our love,
Until we meet again in glory,
We send our love!

Past President Luncheon

Past President Luncheon

At St. Louis, next year, Union Station,
We’ll convene, all of us, with elation,
And, we’ll eat our bat stew,
Chewing chew after chew,
Roasting one more PP with ovation!

Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell are different things,
One takes away the other brings-
True life and love which ne’er will cease
An everlasting inner peace.

I’ve been to Hell; I know the place,
The inward pain and awkward face-
Of torrid seas in turbulence,
And, all I’ve owed in recompense.

On roads we move to interlope,
Not all will lead to centered hope-
Of all we wish and want to see,
A life of pure expectancy.

But, there IS hope; oh, yes indeed!
But, only One can truly lead,
Just set all baggage down and go,
When God’s approached all Heav’n you’ll know!
