New Morning

New Morning

I finally hear the song of spring,
Cacophony of birds that sing,
As bright the dawn of sunshine rays,
Across the vibrant field it plays.

My heart leaps up as day begins,
Each daffodil and crocus grins,
And, gaze upon their world in view,
A bright new morning born anew!

Mama

Mama

Mama’s there to hear my cries,
Mama’s here to dry my eyes,
Mama’s there when e’er I thirst,
Mama’s hears her baby first.

Mama’s there when I first talk,
Mama’s here when I first walk,
Mama’s there when pain controls,
Mama’s tender soul consoles.

Now, if your Mama’s here today,
Or, Mama’s with our Lord to stay,
We thank dear God in heav’n above,
For Mama’s ever present love!

My Day Off

My Day Off

Oh, what to do to day,
My work has all been done,
The rain won’t go away,
I think I’ll have some fun.

My mind is in a cloud,
Shall I do this or that,
My feline yells out loud,
“Come on, and feed your cat!”

I tell him let me be,
I want to write some more,
He gets upset with me,
And, vomits on the floor.

So, pardon me a wink,
My life to him I give,
In labor; all I think,
How long do felines live?
