Rose Marie Lamberty

Rose Marie Lamberty

In loving memory,
I’ve never met a saint before,
But, if I did,
I know she would be like Rose Marie,
She was wholly Christian,
She was wholly family,
She was wholly loving,
To her core,
Our daughter-in-law’s grandma,
She came to every family event,
She loved everyone and everyone loved her,
Gentle,
Sweet,
Kind,
A mentor whom you want to emulate,
My granddaughter and I were kneeling by her casket,
My granddaughter is five,
She has seen death of children and adults in her young life,
She said of Rose Marie,
She’s beautiful,
She died in her day clothes,
(Rose Marie was in a beautiful dress),
And, on seeing the crucifix in her casket,
There’s Jesus,
God will take her soon to be with Jesus,
To live with Jesus,
I said,
She’s already there, Sweetie,
She’s already there.
Bless you, Rose Marie,
You were a blessing to us all!

What Day Is It

What Day Is It

Is it Thursday,
No, it’s Saturday,
January,
A new year,
But, not New Year’s Day,
Good,
Ok,
My time clock is confused,
The Christmas tree has been curbed,
It’s gone,
First thing to do today,
Unplug the white lights on the outside bushes,
I never know when to do that,
I always hate to do that,
I love those lights,
I love that downtowns light their trees at night,
It makes the nighttime special,
More festive,
But, the homestead needs to move into normalcy,
Well, at least I do,
A tradeoff,
I love the holidays,
Family, friends and festive food,
One more holiday to look forward to,
Valentine’s Day,
Then a few dark nights,
Then Spring,
Just around the corner,
I love it,
I love it all!
