A Cold or Not?

A Cold or Not?

You know you’ve got it; yes, you do,
That doggone virus; bit of flu,
A subtle one, it makes me mad,
You know quite soon it will be bad.

Just maybe, yet, it’s in your mind,
A reason for this cough you’ll find,
A sneeze or two; you know not why,
Perhaps the cat was walking by,

Should change the furnace filter now,
A tricky job, but you know how,
The hardware store has filters there,
Decrease the dust that’s in the air.

You’re wife just had a simple cold,
You slept by her; a move so bold,
How did you think that you’d escape,
The covers o’er your face you’d drape.

You feel okay, you’ll be alright,
If I can make it through the night,
With trepidation I just froze,
I felt a drop up in my nose!

Christ Alone

Christ Alone

Christ alone,
How could they not know,
Perhaps they misunderstood,
Perhaps they wanted something else,
Perhaps,
It’s all there,
For those who have eyes to see,
For those who have ears to hear,
Not for a few,
Not just many,
But, for everyone,
Everyone,
Everyone!
It’s done,
Not, yet undone,
And, yet the words get twisted,
Not lost,
Just twisted,
Open my eyes that I may see,
Open my ears that I may hear,
You,
You,
More of you,
Less of me,
I must decrease for you to increase,
Until inside,
There is none, but you,
Until inside,
There is none,
Until inside,
There is,
Christ alone!

Dear Valentine

Dear Valentine

I’ve found what love can be,
I’ve found what love can do,
With open heart I see,
I’ve found that love in you.

Two stars shone in the night,
Two stars shone bright as sun,
Drawn to each other’s light.
Two stars shone joined as one.

As one we’re meant to care,
As one we’re dreaming of,
One life we bound to share,
As one we’re so in love.

Come be my love on fire,
Come be my love, I pray,
You are my heart’s desire,
Come be my love today!

Fear and Friendship

Fear and Friendship

Be there in friendship through the fear,
Through all the anguish; every tear,
We rare will fix or understand,
Yet, we can hold our dear friend’s hand.

Yes, God is here and in control,
Yet, pain will often take its toll,
So if our friends must walk this line,
Less words we speak as ears incline.

Remember well that He is here,
He wept like we through every tear-
As evils low it’s ne’er above,
The saving grace of Jesus’ love!
