Wedding Dance

Men and women on the floor,
Our family,
You in one black dress,
Too, slim with dark shoes,
And, peeper toes,
Trumpets blaring,
Couples sharing glances now,
(And, secret kisses),
Boys who do not know the girls are drawn in,
The entire party pounds,
Girls with painted toes kick off their shoes,
Pound, pound, pound the beat,
Up, up, up, the heat,
Delirious,
Now, serious,
The both of you,
Like you and I,
Who,
Love wedding dances,
For it leads to slow walks home,
Wedding thoughts,
Regained,
Whether relived, or remembered,
These thoughts keep us embraced,
With a love that is palpable,
And, forever enduring!
