A Bug Upon My Rug
(Grandchild’s
Poem)
I saw a bug upon
my rug,
The bug upon my
rug did shrug,
I asked him, “Do
you need a hug?
He said, “Oh my!
Please one BIG hug!”
“And, take a look
at this old mug,”
“I need a drink
from that big jug,”
“For on my journey
I must lug,”
“That friendly
dog; He is my pug,”
“His name is ‘Slug’,
my friendly pug,”
“My shoulder’s tire
and I must shrug,”
“I’ll say you have
a lovely rug,”
“I never, ever
want to bug,”
A lovely meeting on
my rug!
